hello hello! so again the update will be told in pictures. and again it concerns club filipina. yay! on sunday, april 18, 2004, we had our fiesta filipina! the exclamation is part of the title of the event. we think there's a company/restaurant out there called fiesta filipina and we didnt want any lawsuits... because we're that important. moving right along. oh mad props again to e-boogie for the pics!

so there was lots of hardwork that went into transforming good ol schneider into the fiesta atmosphere. we had the politically minded booth with petitions and all that. and our palengke, meaning marketplace, with goodies like halo-halo and shirts and pretty scarves and oh all the great things girls can buy or boys can buy for their girlfriends. on a side-note, i too transformed myself by *gasp* shaving... only to be disappointed as my prince charming did not arrive. sighs.

for entertainment we had a dance troupe, about the age of our parents, come.. with their kids and own audience of grandpas and grandmas. it was too cute! their costumes were really something too. i was really at my tagalog-speaking social-schmoozing prime that night. the other act was two very cool and kind guys from queens, harry and mark, who did spoken word pieces. they had one about spam. yumm!

even more yummy was our food. but check it, harry and mark drove up our catering all the way from queens. we thought that there were no filipino restaurants here in the boston area.... so we ordered it from queens. but oh the barbeque was worth it. we were a bit stingy though.. didn't expect so many peeps to show up... methinks about 200 people came.

i made this kids' game called pabitin. very proud of it. the kids won cool prizes. hmm, nothing else interesting to say about game. i just wanted to include this picture coz im proud of it. is it me, or is karla's head as big as an.. elephant?

the rest of the night was all about laughing, karaokeing, and group-picturing.

we also had an after party at the hotel lobby, aka known as figuring out finances and reimbursements, when some secrets were revealed, some embarassing stories were shared, some people were teased -- which all in all made lil' ol' me a very happy cupcake :)
